‘The Roxy’ pops up on many pages. Did you know years before The Roxy Cinema in Miramar, there was a theatre by that name on Manners St?
G&S recovered the cinema seats so often Ron used to get a bit of stick from the management, they reckoned he was sending his sons Rick and Chris over to rough up the seats and drum up business!
Rick assures us this was not true… the Roxy was (in)famous for screening movies continuously, which must have caused a fair bit of wear and tear, especially with a boisterous crowd like this lot from 1971..
